The rules.

What Storyfold is
Storyfold is a free creator app that lets kids make scrolling story pages and share them with people their grown-up approves. By using Storyfold you agree to these rules.
Who can use it
Anyone can use Storyfold, but it's designed for kids. Before a kid's first publish, a grown-up has to approve once (math question + email). If you're under 13 and a grown-up has not approved, please ask them to do so before publishing.
What you can and can't make
You can make pages about anything you love — your trip, your pet, your collection, your story.
You can't publish content that:
- Bullies, threatens, or harasses another person
- Contains adult content, violence, or anything that's scary or harmful for kids
- Shares someone else's personal information without permission (full names, addresses, school names, phone numbers of other kids)
- Infringes someone else's copyright (don't upload photos you didn't take or don't have permission to use). Photos imported through Storyfold's built-in Unsplash search are licensed by Unsplash for free personal and commercial use — Storyfold preserves photographer attribution automatically.
- Pretends to be someone else
If we see content that breaks these rules, we may take it down without notice. If a kid repeatedly breaks the rules, we may close their account.
Who owns what you make
You own your content.Your kid keeps full ownership of the pages, text, and photos they upload. Storyfold doesn't claim any rights to them.
By using Storyfold you give us a limited license to store and display your content so the app can work — that's it. We won't use it for marketing, training models, or any purpose beyond running Storyfold.
Free forever
Storyfold is free for personal use and will remain free. We don't plan to add paid tiers, ads, or in-app purchases.
When you delete your account
You can delete your account at any time (Manage account → Security → Delete account). When you do, we remove your pages, photos, handle, and account record. We don't keep backups of deleted accounts beyond standard provider retention (typically up to 30 days at our hosting providers).
When something breaks
Storyfold is provided as iswithout warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it running, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service or that your content is never lost. Always download a copy of anything you can't afford to lose.
To the extent permitted by law, Studio Practice and the developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Storyfold.
Changes to these rules
We may update these terms. If we change something substantive, we'll email the registered parental contact before the change takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of California, USA. Any disputes go through the courts of San Mateo County.
